The course will explore the mental health conditions educators are most likely to encounter and how those conditions impact learning. This includes exploring how mental health conditions can impact classroom behavior & performance, how psychotropic medications may impact learning, and how educators can facilitate learning when a mental health condition is present. Participants will also learn the basic indicators of several mental health conditions, the basics in responding to a mental health emergency, and how to appropriately talk to students about possible mental health concerns.
